The
vikingship Icelander.
In
the year 2000, exactly 1.000 years after Leif Eiriksson is thought
to have become the first European to set foot in North America,
Islendingur, an Icelandic-built replica of a Viking longship, sailed
on an epic voyage of over 4.400 nautical miles from Iceland to the
eastern seaboard of Canada and the United States.
Islendingur, now in Reykjanesbær, welcomes you aboard and offers
a unique opportunity to imagine yourself in the footsteps of Iceland´s
first settler, Ingolfur Arnarson, and countless other Nordic adventurers.
