About us.

The Dolphin & Whale Spotting company in Keflavik
pioneered whale watching in southwest Iceland and is the only such company run by a woman. Starting from scratch, Helga Ingimundardottir, a local tour guide begun the Dolphin & Whale Spotting in co-operation with a local captain and owner of a small boat in 1994.
The popularity of the trips caused the company to grow and now owning a 90 passenger, 160-ton boat, the Moby Dick.
Helga takes an ever-increasing number of whalespotters out daily during the operation season. Putting ecology first, research has taken place on the boat since 1997, and the company sponsors reforestation on the Reykjanes peninsula. The crew of Moby Dick operates by the code of conduct recommended by the IWC, WDCS, E. Hoyt and Greenpeace
